Day 4: From Consumer to Contributor

Bible Verse
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.' - 1 Peter 4:10
God didn't save you just to sit in a pew on Sunday morning. He saved you to serve! Too many believers fall into what we might call the "consumer mentality" – coming to church asking what they can get rather than what they can give. But healthy churches are filled with people who have moved from being consumers to contributors. You have gifts, talents, and abilities that God wants to use for His kingdom. Maybe you're good with children, have a heart for the elderly, or possess skills that could help with church maintenance. Perhaps you're called to teach, serve in hospitality, or help with technology. The specific area doesn't matter as much as your willingness to serve. When you use your gifts to serve others, something beautiful happens. You discover joy in giving rather than receiving. You become part of God's work in building His church. You find purpose beyond yourself. Remember, the church isn't the building – it's you and every other believer serving the Lord together. God has equipped you for service, and your local church needs what you have to offer. Don't wait for the perfect opportunity. Step forward in faith and watch how God uses your willing heart.
Reflection Question:
What gifts or abilities has God given you that you could use to serve others in your church?
Quote:
God did not save us just to sit. He saved us to serve church.
Prayer:
Father, show me how You want me to serve in Your church. Help me move from being a consumer to a faithful contributor in Your kingdom work.
