Day 2: This Isn't Home
Bible Verse
'But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.' - Philippians 3:20

Imagine you're staying in a hotel for a week. You wouldn't spend thousands of dollars redecorating the room or get upset about the scratched furniture, right? You'd accept the temporary inconveniences because you know you're not staying permanently. This perspective shift is revolutionary for how we handle life's difficulties.
When we truly grasp that earth isn't our permanent address, everything changes. The disappointments, setbacks, and even tragedies we face become temporary inconveniences rather than permanent defeats. This doesn't minimize our pain or suggest we shouldn't care about our earthly responsibilities. Instead, it provides hope and perspective. The broken relationships, financial struggles, and health issues that feel overwhelming are real, but they're not eternal. Understanding our true citizenship helps us invest our energy wisely and find peace amid chaos.

Reflection Question:
How would your current worries change if you truly believed they were temporary?
How would your current worries change if you truly believed they were temporary?
Quote:
My friends, this life here on earth can be hard, but this life here on earth is not our home. This life here on earth can be hard, but this is not our permanent residence.
My friends, this life here on earth can be hard, but this life here on earth is not our home. This life here on earth can be hard, but this is not our permanent residence.
Prayer:
Father, remind me daily that my true home is with You. Help me live with eternal perspective while still caring for my earthly responsibilities.
