Day 5: Abundant Life in Christ

Bible Verse
'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.' - John 10:10
Many people are living, but few are truly alive. There's a vast difference between mere existence and the abundant life Jesus offers. Look around and you'll see people desperately searching for fulfillment—chasing success, relationships, substances, or experiences—trying to fill a void that only Christ can satisfy. But as believers, we have access to something far greater than temporary pleasures or achievements. We have abundant life—a deep, abiding union with God that satisfies our souls. This doesn't mean life becomes easy or problem-free. Ministry is tough, people can disappoint us, and circumstances can overwhelm us. But even in the midst of difficulties, we can experience a richness of life that the world cannot understand or take away. When you're tempted to throw in the towel, remember that you're not just enduring life—you're experiencing the very life of God flowing through you. This perspective gives us strength to persevere when others give up, hope when others despair, and joy even in the midst of trials. That's the difference Christ makes.
Reflection Question:
What areas of your life feel more like mere existence rather than abundant living, and how can you invite Christ more fully into those areas?
Quote:
There's a difference between living and what Jesus says in John 10:10. Abundance, living. The only way that you and I can experience abundant living is to be in a right relationship with Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for offering abundant life. Help me experience the fullness of life You provide, especially when circumstances are difficult.
