Day 3: Citizens of Heaven

Bible Verse
""But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." - Philippians 3:20
We live in a world that constantly tries to convince us that this life is all there is. We're encouraged to build our kingdoms here, accumulate our treasures here, and find our identity here. But as followers of Christ, we're called to live with a radically different perspective. Our true citizenship is in heaven, not on earth. This world is not our permanent home - we're living here as exiles, temporary residents with our hearts set on our eternal destination.

This truth should fundamentally change how we approach every aspect of life. When we understand that we've been bought with a price - the precious blood of Christ - we realize we no longer belong to ourselves. Our eyes, our words, our actions all belong to Him. This isn't restrictive; it's liberating. We're free from the pressure to find ultimate meaning in temporary things. Living as citizens of heaven means we approach today's challenges with eternal perspective. The difficulties we face are real, but they're temporary. The hope we have is real, and it's eternal.
Reflection Question:
How would your daily priorities change if you truly lived with the awareness that your citizenship is in heaven, not on earth?
Quote:
Our citizenship is in heaven. Our citizenship is not here. This life that we live here on earth, it's here today, gone tomorrow.
- Pastor Greg
Prayer:
Lord, help me live as a citizen of heaven while I'm here on earth. May my perspective be shaped by eternity, not by temporary circumstances.
