Day 2: Jesus Is God—Worship Him

Bible Verse
'Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."' - John 8:12
When Jesus declared "I am the light of the world," He wasn't just making a nice metaphor. He was claiming divinity. The phrase "I am" echoes God's revelation to Moses at the burning bush, where the Almighty identified Himself as "I AM WHO I AM." This wasn't lost on Jesus' audience—they understood He was claiming to be God. This truth transforms how we approach our daily struggles. We're not serving a good teacher or moral example; we're serving the divine Son of God. Every task becomes an act of worship when we remember who we're serving. Whether you're changing diapers, working at your job, or dealing with difficult people, you're offering your life to the One who spoke the universe into existence. He doesn't need our service, but He desires our hearts. When life gets tough and you wonder if your efforts matter, remember that you're not just working for a cause—you're worshiping the King of kings. This perspective changes everything about how we approach both the mundane and the magnificent moments of life.
Reflection Question:
How does remembering that Jesus is truly God change the way you approach your daily responsibilities and challenges?
Quote:
When Jesus makes these I am statements in the Book of John, when he's making these I am statements, in the Greek language, it is ego, I me. Literally, that means I, I am, and it is emphatic.
Prayer:
Jesus, help me remember that You are God and worthy of my worship. Transform my daily tasks into acts of devotion to You.
