Day 4: Light That Shines Through You

Bible Verse
'Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."' - John 8:12
There's a profound difference between natural light and the light of Christ. Natural light simply shines around us—like a flashlight illuminating a room. But when Jesus becomes the light of your life, His light doesn't just shine around you; it shines in and through you. This means that wherever you go, you carry the presence of God. Your workplace, your neighborhood, your family gatherings—these become places where God's light can push back darkness. You don't have to be perfect or have all the answers. You just need to let His light shine through your life. When you show kindness to a stressed cashier, when you forgive someone who hurt you, when you choose hope over despair—that's Christ's light breaking through the darkness of this world. The beautiful truth is that darkness cannot coexist with light. When God's light shines through you, it naturally dispels the darkness around you. You become a beacon of hope in a world that desperately needs to see the love of Christ in action.
Reflection Question:
In what specific situations this week can you intentionally let Christ's light shine through you to push back darkness?
Quote:
Natural light never comes part of our inner being... But Jesus is the light of Zoe. Jesus is the light of life. Therefore his light shines in and through us, pointing others to the true life.
Prayer:
Lord, let Your light shine in and through me today. Use me as a beacon of hope to those who are walking in darkness.
