Day 2: Called to Lead with Humility

Bible Verse
'So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly' - 1 Peter 5:1-2
Leadership in God's kingdom looks radically different from worldly leadership. Godly leaders don't seek positions for power or prestige - they answer God's call with willing hearts and servant spirits. Whether you're in formal church leadership or simply influencing others through your daily life, remember that true leadership flows from a genuine relationship with Jesus. A leader who hasn't spent time with the Lord cannot effectively guide others toward spiritual growth. Ministry is challenging work that requires constant dependence on God's strength and wisdom. The goal isn't to please people or maintain popularity, but to faithfully serve according to God's will. When leaders prioritize their relationship with Christ above all else, they create an environment where the entire church family can flourish. This kind of leadership requires humility, recognizing that we're all servants under the ultimate authority of Jesus Christ, the true head of the church.
Reflection Question:
In what areas of your life is God calling you to lead with humility and servant-heartedness?
Quote:
A pastor can only lead where he is. And a pastor cannot lead people to grow spiritually if he himself is not growing spiritually.
Prayer:
Father, whether in formal leadership or daily influence, help me lead as Jesus led - with humility, love, and complete dependence on You.
