Day 1: You Were Never Meant to Go Alone

Bible Verse
'And whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on either side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.' - Exodus 17:11-12
Life hits hard sometimes. Whether you're facing financial stress, relationship struggles, health concerns, or just the daily grind wearing you down, there's one truth that remains constant: you were never designed to walk this journey alone. Moses learned this lesson during Israel's battle against the Amalekites. As long as his arms were raised, Israel prevailed, but when they grew heavy and dropped, the enemy gained ground. Aaron and Hur recognized Moses couldn't sustain this alone, so they held up his weary arms until victory was won.

This beautiful picture shows us God's design for community. We all have seasons when our arms grow heavy - when we're exhausted from fighting battles, carrying burdens, or simply trying to keep going. In those moments, we desperately need our Aaron and Hur - people who will come alongside us and provide the support we need. But here's the beautiful truth: God has placed people in your life for this very purpose. He's also placed you in others' lives to be their support. The Christian life isn't a solo journey; it's a community effort where we strengthen each other through life's battles.
Reflection Question:
Who are the Aaron and Hur figures in your life, and how can you better recognize when your own arms are growing heavy?
Quote:
Life is too hard to go through alone. We need one another.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for designing us to need each other. Help me recognize when I'm trying to carry burdens alone and give me courage to reach out for support.
