Day 2: Seeking God's Wisdom Above All Else

Bible Verse
'If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.' - James 1:5
In our information-saturated world, we have endless sources of advice at our fingertips. Social media influencers, self-help books, horoscopes, and well-meaning friends all compete for our attention when we need direction. But Paul's prayer for the Colossians reveals a better way: seeking God's wisdom first. Paul prayed that believers would "be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding." This isn't surface-level information you can Google; it's deep, experiential knowledge that comes from intimate relationship with God. When we prioritize God's wisdom, we tap into divine insight that transcends human understanding. The challenge isn't that we lack access to God's wisdom - through His Spirit living within us, we have supernatural resources available 24/7. The issue is often that we exhaust other options before turning to Him. God wants to guide your decisions, relationships, and future, but He desires to be your first consultation, not your final option when everything else fails.
Reflection Question:
Where do you typically turn first when you need guidance - God's wisdom or other sources?
Quote:
As followers of God, we must pray for God to give us wisdom.
Prayer:
Father, forgive me for seeking wisdom everywhere except from You. Fill me with knowledge of Your will and help me trust Your guidance above all other voices.
